Traditionally education was used to teach the necessary skills to be a productive member of the community. Today the varied cultural backgrounds and cultures of people are put into an education system largely filters children and young adults through a type. The system works well for some; however, it largely neglects cultural and national teachings that were so strongly a part of traditional society.  Culture strongly impacts the way people participate in education. The way people are educated varies to a great extent based on culture. In a true education system, religion, patriotism, literature, art and science are taught in a way to affect the character and conduct of the society.
